Kapèleia et vente à crédit dans l’Athènes classique

Abstract : This work aims at analyzing the credit practice in everyday transactions in classical Athens. In the wake of P. Millett’s study « Sale, Credit and Exchange in Athenian Law and Society » published in 1990, we will consider the social and economic implications of these credits as well as the relevance of a legal analysis based on the principle of cash sale for day‑to‑day market exchange.
