Radiation-induced defects in pure-silica-core optical fibers: a study by confocal Microscopy
Abstract
We studied by confocal microscopy the radial distributions of the γ-ray radiation-induced point defects in pure-silica core fibers with F-doped claddings. We provide evidence for the non-uniform distribtion of these emitting color centers in the radiation-hardened low and high-Ohoptical fibers.
