Resonant influence of small S-shaped particles on the guided mode of a coplanar line

Abstract : Artificial dielectrics prepared as planar grids appear to have potential use and applications at microwaves due to their easy fabrication and their wide range of obtainable properties. Here, we study a grid of metallic S-particles introduced in the design of a coplanar waveguide and demonstrate the resonant influence of the grid to the S-matrix of the coplanar waveguide.
