'On peut s'étonner de son succès vraiment considérable et persistant'

Abstract : In dance, women's recognition as creators and not as performers has specific logics connected to the matter and the history of dancing. The topic of this paper confers to the factors which allowed Loïe Fuller and Isadora Duncan, the pioneers of modern dance, to be recognized as genuine artists. Nevertheless the criticism and the historiography remain imbued with a male and sexist point of view.
