Combined experimental and simulation study of the fiber composition effects on its Brillouin scattering signature

Abstract : Brillouin signatures of 15 fibers are characterized experimentally and theoretically highlighting the core and cladding dopants influence. Tailoring the fiber composition and refractive index profile, multi-peak fibers allowing discriminating between temperature and strain appear feasible.
